Ms. Hanh, the founder of Happy Cooking Class, is the eldest of four children. She grew up in a mountain village where her grandmother and mother opened a restaurant in 1980. From a young age, she was involved in most household chores and learned meticulously how to prepare food, teaching herself to cook dishes from scratch.
At 16, she fell in love with Hoi An and decided to stay, working at a local restaurant. Due to her diligence and talent, she was promoted to head chef after only eight months. Customers loved her cooking and suggested she open a cooking class for tourists.
She began teaching tourists in 2003 until the Covid-19 pandemic broke out in 2020. After returning to Hoi An in 2022, getting married, and having a baby, she decided to pursue her biggest dream: opening her own cooking school in 2025. With over 20 years of experience, Ms. Hanh is committed to providing fun, cozy, and flavorful Vietnamese cooking experiences.
Cooking Class Program
Pick up you at your hotel in Hoi An area, going to the Market for buying Fresh Ingredients – Explore Hoi An’s vibrant markets, selecting fresh herbs, spices, and produce while learning about local food culture for 30 minutes.
Then go to the vegetable Trà Quế village you will enjoy the rustic and peaceful nature picture of an immense vegetable area, and experience being a farmer to hoe the soil, fertilize by algae, and water by watering bucket for 20 minutes.
Then Learn to cook and learn authentic cooking techniques and great tips for making a delicious meal, with step-by-step guidance from an experienced chef for your lunch or dinner for 2 hours. last you will have a foot massage treatment for 15 minutes before return at the hotel.
And you will have the recipe book to take home for good memories from Hoi An Viet Nam.
